On the 1st of June of 1878 just yesterday. thy ship the loch ARD sunk on it's voyage from Gravesend to Melbourne, after twelve weeks on thy voyage they had entered a very bad storm and went completely off course and was heading straight for cliffs.
Thy captain had tried everything he could, but it their was no hope thy loch ARD crashed and everyone died so thought except for two passengers Tom Pearce and Eva Carmichael who reported it first.
We have a witness statement from Steven glacofsten who was trying to get home from the beach on the day of the crash. " well as thy storm brewed I was making my way home, as quick as possible when I stop to see a ship heading straight towards the cliffs, I panicked and tried to signal the captain, but it was no use they crashed Into the cliffs, I reported it the after the storm was over but the survivors had reported it first.
