Loch ard locked in Davie jones locker.

3/6/78
Two days ago, the unfortunate English ship 'The Loch Ard' ran aground just off the coast of mutton bird island. It was bound for Melbourne beginning its voyage just over thirteen weeks ago. Most of the passengers onboard were that of the Carmichael family who were migrating to the colonies because their father was sick. The fog was a major contributing factor to this tragic event because when it finally cleared the ship was way off course and heading for the sharp rocky cliffs. The crew and it's captain all tried their hardest to prevent disaster, but they hit a reef and all was lost. The captain, due to the lack of life boats and life belts, did the honourable thing and went down with his ship. All its 18 passengers and 36 crew were lost except for two survivors, 18 year old Eva Carmichael and also 18 year old Tom Pearce. Eva somehow grabbed hold of some driftwood and floated most of the way to the shore but didn't have enough strength to completely make it and probably would have drowned if it weren't for Tom. He was tired as well but some how managed to swim out into the ocean to rescue her. Many of us find this romantic but the pair still say that they do not have feelings for each other, beside those of gratitude. Eva is now heading home to her distant relatives and we have no further news of Tom.
